Healthy Home, Healthy You

As our Principal Interior Designer always says, “Health and Well-Being are our true luxuries.”

Design choices you make with your various spaces in your home play a huge role in your health and wellbeing. They can either support great health or have surprisingly negative impacts on it which can contribute to illness and disease. This concept is often defined as holistic physical and emotional wellbeing and part of the National Wellness Institute’s (NWI) Six Dimensions of wellness which are: Emotional, occupational, physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual. They state that “addressing all Six Dimensions of wellness in our lives builds a holistic sense of wellness and fulfillment.” Healthy home, healthy you.

As Designers, it is our social responsibility to create designs with health and wellbeing in mind. Although many of our clients come to us to begin an interior design project based on their preferred design style and favorite colors, etc… our initial goal is to get to know each family member on a deeper level. We take pleasure in diving into the family’s footprint, culture, hobbies, goals with the use of space, as we design spaces to support the individual lifestyle and make each space elegant and functional. This is when we are able to successfully create the perfect space for each client.

For example, Designed spaces must support the individual lifestyle and functional needs of each family member. Interior Design in the shared family space, bedroom, and bathroom should create a feeling of calmness,  relieve tension, create a space for meditation, and above all else allow each family member to feel happy and comfortable. Whereas the home office space should be clutter-free to support productivity, motivation, and alertness.

Is your home designed with the concept of health and wellness in mind? Remember, a healthy home, healthy you. If not, we’re happy to help. Simply book a consultation with one of our designers and we’ll get you on the road to healthy living!
