Today, more than ever, we are reminded of how precious our earth really is. It is Earth Day, an environmental movement founded by US Senator Gaylord Nelson on April 22, 1970, to celebrate the earth. This movement led an annual tradition where men, women, and children collect garbage, plant trees, clean up coral reefs, show movies, sign petitions, and plan for a better future for our planet. So, here are some earth-friendly activities you can do today to show that you too love the earth that you live in.
Earth-Friendly Activities
Learn About Earth
First, Watch Earth Day Live by going to the official Earth Day website and learn about their mission to build the world’s largest environmental movement to drive transformative change for people and the planet. They work with partners to help diversify, educate, and activate the environmental movement worldwide.
Walk or Bike
Walk or take a bike ride around your neighborhood, listen to the birds, and think. Meditate on one way you can help the earth. Don’t stress over yesterday, focus on today, and how you can create an impact. Whether it’s by recycling or buying sustainable products. What are ways you save energy in your home?
Get in Your Garden
Whether you live in a house or condo, do some gardening. Water your plants and trees, and simply enjoy them by talking to them. Thank your plants, they are alive and grow when being loved. You don’t need to have a green thumb, just give them positive energy and watch them thrive. Here are some gardening tips if you need ideas. If you don’t have any plants or trees, and can’t go out and buy a plant, take some beans from your pantry and soak them in water to sprout them.
