Whether you are a tried and true bibliophile, or have haphazardly amassed a collection of books over the years, you must have a space to store them. If they are just for show then shelving within a living room or office should work fine. However, if you read your tomes ten at a time and are constantly pulling out multiple ones for research or perusing, then a dedicated home library is a must.
A well-appointed home library will have plenty of shelving, a library table or two, a comfortable club chair or chaise lounge and adequate lighting from adjustable sources. Easy access to books stacked on book shelves is important with a sliding ladder preferable.
